Title: Ministry of Health Seizes Counterfeit Viagra and Poppers in Joint Operation with Israel Police

In a coordinated effort between the Division for Enforcement and Supervision at the Ministry of Health and the Israel Police, authorities have confiscated several counterfeit Viagra preparations and poppers in the southern region of the country. The seized products, which include the brand names TIGER KING, KAMARGA ORAL JELLY, KAMARGA, GIMP SCENT, BERLIN XXX, and AMSTERDAM, were found to contain the active ingredient Sildenafil, making their consumption potentially harmful and even fatal.

The Ministry of Health is now warning the public against these fake preparations, emphasizing that legitimate Viagra products require a doctor’s prescription and can only be obtained from authorized pharmacies. Additionally, the seized poppers, which fall under the category of volatile substances, have been prohibited for use and marketing by the Ministry of Health due to their psychoactive properties. Inhalation of these substances can lead to severe side effects, such as a sudden drop in blood pressure, loss of consciousness, heart rhythm disturbances, cardiac collapse, stroke, and even death.

It has been highlighted that the simultaneous use of poppers and low-quality counterfeit Viagra can result in the dilation of blood vessels, potentially leading to a life-threatening cardiac collapse. Recognizing the seriousness of the issue, the Ministry of Health is working closely with enforcement agencies to tackle this phenomenon. Notably, this is the second time in a month that such illicit Viagra and poppers preparations have been uncovered in a joint operation between the Ministry of Health and the Israel Police.

Dr. Roni Berkovich, Director of the Department of Enforcement and Supervision at the Ministry of Health, emphasized the importance of combating the distribution and marketing of unauthorized and counterfeit drugs. Given that these drugs pose significant risks to public health, including morbidity and mortality, he advised caution when purchasing medications from unfamiliar sources or websites.

The Ministry of Health’s proactive stance in this matter highlights the seriousness with which they approach the protection of public health. Collaboration with law enforcement agencies ensures the swift identification and removal of counterfeit drugs from circulation, serving to safeguard the well-being of the population.
