Warning in the Corona app: The vaccination certificate is expiring! What to do? | life & knowledge

by time news

Maybe you already have a message from yours Corona-Warn-App (CWA) or the CovPass app: The vaccination certificate is expiring!

So does that mean that you have to go to the pharmacy again to have a new certificate issued – or that you have to try again with the yellow vaccination booklet in the future?

BILD explains what you have to do now.

The expired certificate is only about the TECHNICAL validity of your digital vaccination certificate – not the validity of the vaccination itself!

This technical validity was set at one year when the digital vaccination certificate was introduced. Since many Germans received their second spade in the summer of last year, the certificate is now expiring for them.

RKI promises timely update

The solution: Wait!

Because: The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) promises that an update will be available before the first certificate expires, with which the certificate can be updated.

in de FAQ of the CovPass app it says: “You can soon carry out the necessary reissuance yourself in the app with just a few clicks. An update with the reissue feature will be available in the app stores before your certificates expire.”

So just keep an eye on the date on which your certificate expires – by then the option to simply renew it within the app should have been rolled out via update.
