The Civil Protection Directorate (PROCIVIL) issued a Notice for increased rainfall and storms, due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ),
According to the statements provided by PROCIVIL, this notice is based on the Special Meteorological Report No. 1, published by the General Directorate of the Threat Observatory (DOA) of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN).
“A depression field related to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) describes that along the Central American Pacific coast, rain and storms will continue at different periods during the next few days. Cloudiness and rain will increase throughout the country, especially in the coastal and northern strip,” said MARN.
“The various Departmental and Municipal Civil Protection Commissions must promote coordination and constant communication with the National Monitoring Center on any situation that violates the safety of people,” added PROCIVIL.
