Warring factions in Yemen begin exchange of around 900 prisoners – Yemen

by time news

Riyadh/Aden – The peace talks between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi rebels in Yemen have ended for the time being, with further rounds to follow. The Saudi Arabian delegation left the Yemeni capital Sana’a on Thursday, two Yemeni insiders said. Houthi representatives said the consultations “went well” and that remaining difficulties could be resolved “with determination and honest intentions.” As a sign of goodwill, the exchange of almost 900 prisoners has begun, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced on Friday. The first plane carrying freedmen has landed at Sana’a Airport, Houthi-run TV station Masirah reported.
