Frances Walker was known to her tenants and neighbors as a smiling, happy and lively girl who never moved without her dog Loki. What was their surprise when they didn’t see her tending her garden over the weekend. “We assumed she was sick because it was flu season,” explained Andy, one of the tenants. “And when we started to realize that she wasn’t around, we tried to call her… then we thought something had happened.”

When the police arrived very quickly they flagged one of the tenants as a suspect in Walker’s disappearance. “When the police arrived, the person (who made the call) told the police that there was a suspect living in the apartment complex that the other residents were afraid of,” Chicago Police Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan said.

It turned out that the same tenant was seen with a tow truck driver holding a large bag. The police located the owner of the truck who confirmed the incident and said that she threw the bag on Foster Boulevard in the city. The police managed to locate the bag which was full of rags soaked in blood.

“Based on the evidence that the detectives were able to obtain on the tenant, they were also able to find human remains in her freezer,” Deenihan said, noting that the next action of the police was to leave the house in order to obtain a search warrant. Upon receiving the warrant, the police were able to obtain the evidence and arrested the tenant, who is not cooperating with the police. Police confirmed that Walker’s body was dismembered.
