Aitana López is a Spanish influencer with more than 200 thousand followers on Instagram. In her profile she describes herself as a woman who seems to love gaming, fitness and cosplay. Thanks to the life that she shows on her social networks, she consolidates businesses with various brands to do collaborations.
However, what draws Aitana’s attention is that it does not exist. As if it were an episode of Black Mirror, this person is nothing more than a creation of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Behind her passionate publications about the world of gaming and in general her seemingly normal life routines, is a Spanish advertising agency, The Clueless, based in Barcelona, in charge of showing Aitana’s “life” to her followers and dedicated to “ meticulously create AI models.”
Rubén Cruz, Aitana’s designer and founder of the company responsible for its creation, explained why it occurred to them to “give life” to the model on social networks.
“We began to analyze how we were working and we realized that many projects were put on hold or canceled due to problems beyond our control. Many times it was the fault of the influencer or the model and not for design reasons,” Cruz told Euronews.

To avoid these types of situations and having to deal with setbacks, the agency created a character who is always available to work. “We did it so we could earn a better living and not depend on other people who have egos, who have manias or who just want to make a lot of money by posing,” Cruz said.
The AI model has been a success since creating her account just four months ago. The digital figure generates between 4,000 and 10,000 euros per month for its virtual content.
And the photos of the model are easy to confuse for a real person. Even, according to its creators, celebrities have fallen for the illusion and have asked the model out, completely unaware that she is not a real person.
“One day, a well-known Latin American actor sent her a message to ask her out. “This actor has about 5 million followers and some members of our team watched his television series when they were children.” “I had no idea that Aitana did not exist,” described the Spanish designer.
In addition, the model receives comments on her publications and they praise her like any other influencer. On the other hand, some users are surprised by the realism of Aitana’s photographs.
