Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s media secretary Rohan Welivita has told the Colombo English media that no complaint has been lodged regarding the alleged theft of large sums of money from Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s personal bank account.
Commenting on this, he said that the Prime Minister’s Office was not aware of such an incident. He said the media reports on the incident were “as far as I know”.
Meanwhile, Minister Namal Rajapaksa told reporters yesterday that he was unaware of his father’s bank account incident.
It is noteworthy that he said that such an incident did not come to light and did not happen and that he informed himself only after seeing the news in the media.
