“A certain number of works are present in the public space, so we have launched an inventory to better understand their maintenance because, sometimes, the procedures are complex, in particular in the event of consultation of the beneficiaries, explains Francis Grass, deputy mayor responsible for culture. For Nougaro’s photo, we will check if it is in this inventory and contact the rights holders and the Picto company to see how to proceed. Once the investigations have been carried out, the photo could be restored or reprinted, depending on the cost of the operation. While waiting for the huge photo to regain its colors, there are still many places paying homage to the Toulouse poet in the Pink City, such as his statue installed in the Charles-de-Gaulle square, a stone’s throw from the Capitol, or the square that bears his name. in his childhood neighborhood of Les Minimes.
