A US federal government notice stated that the Department of Commerce added 11 entities from Ukraine“>Russia, China and the UAE, on Wednesday, to the government’s export restriction list for reasons related to national security.
According to Reuters, the measure came as a result of violations related to sanctions on Iran, the war in Ukraine, and attacks on oil tankers in the Middle East.
The measures included two companies from the Emirates, “khalaj Trading LLC” and “Mahdi khalaj Amirhosseini,” for violating the sanctions imposed on Iran, according to the notice.
It also included four Chinese entities for obtaining American goods and using them to support Chinese military modernization, and another entity for supplying drones to the Russian army.
Restrictions were imposed on another Chinese company for being part of a network to purchase aviation components for an aircraft company in Iran, including dual-use components for drones.
The notice said that the restrictions included three Russian entities, as they were part of the network.
“These components are used to develop and produce the Shahed series drones, which Iran used to attack oil tankers in the Middle East and Russia used in its attacks on Ukraine,” the federal notice said.
