Washington urges Libyan parties to participate in UN-backed dialogue

The United States urged all Libyan parties to engage constructively in a dialogue supported by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and the international community.

This came in a post by the US Embassy in Libya on its account on the “X” platform, regarding the visit of the Commander of the US Military Command in Africa, General Michael Langley, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy, ​​Jeremy Brent, to the city of Benghazi, and their meeting with Khalifa Haftar.

The embassy reported that the meeting discussed the United States’ commitment to strengthening its partnership with Libyans from all over the country, in addition to its support for Libyan efforts to protect Libya’s sovereignty in light of regional security challenges.

The US delegation also stressed the importance of maintaining stability in Libya and de-escalating tensions in light of the current tensions.
