Watch a gang that stole 6 cars in just 40 seconds

by time news

Do you know the movie “Sting in 60 seconds”? Even if it is or not, we have two pieces of news for you: this time it’s really not a movie, and to be precise, there’s really no need for 60 seconds either.

So yes, both the movie and the real case take place in the USA, only this time it’s in Summerset, Kentucky. It was a few days ago at two in the morning, when companies of thieves “cleaned” the Don Franklin Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership.

The same thieves took with them 6 sports cars as if they were swallowed by the earth, when the security cameras record a significant part of the robbery and the rare speed at which it was carried out: only 40 seconds without any delay in execution.

Four of the thieves (although only three of them can be seen in the video below) were inside the showroom and two of them were waiting outside, with the assumption now being that they knew in advance where the keys were (allowing for the speed of execution).

In case you had any doubt, the gang of thieves knew exactly what they came to steal: they made off with six different cars from Dodge Challenger Hellcats when the value of each of them is estimated at about 100 thousand dollars, i.e. 600 thousand dollars in total.

This is a sports car whose top speed can reach about 320 km/h, when its engine provides 700 horsepower. Needless to say, this data helps quite a bit when you try to escape from the scene of the incident…

By the way, if it’s not surprising enough that the whole operation lasted less than a minute, in the video you can see that one of the thieves even tries to change the license plate on one of the vehicles, which raises the level of planning and execution even more (it’s unpleasant to say, but it’s true).

The director of the public agency, Adam Bryant, suspects that the band of thieves had inside information, which helped them neutralize the security measures and, as mentioned, quickly obtain the keys to the vehicles. According to him, and rightly so, only such preliminary information enables action in such an execution time.

If we mention security measures, the alarm started working only 60 seconds after the robbery began, meaning 20 seconds after the thieves were no longer there. The police arrived in just 3 minutes, but of course it didn’t help anymore.

And there is also good news: the police have already located five of the six stolen cars in different cities in the USA. The bad news is that one of them was found completely destroyed, and the identity of the thieves is unknown.
