Al-Marsad Newspaper: Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Othman, a nutritionist, warned against the widespread use of “Chinese salt”, scientifically known as monosodium glutamate.

Al-Othman explained that although this substance is authorized to be used by the Food and Drug Authority, in a very small amount, it is widely used in many food products that we used to eat in our daily lives, including chips, Indomie, and Maggi broth. .

He added, during a clip he shared on the “Tik Tok” application, that it is also used in processed food products, and in restaurants they also use it with a “handful” and not with a spoon, because it enhances the taste.

Al-Othman stressed the danger of this substance in children suffering from autism, hyperactivity disorder, distraction and lack of focus.
