With a handshake, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zlansky walked in the center of Kyiv, Ukraine, yesterday, talking to local residents. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense tweeted about it and wrote: “This is what democracy looks like, this is what courage looks like, this is what real friendship between peoples looks like.”

The British Prime Minister came to Kiev to demonstrate Britain’s solid solidarity with Ukraine and to hold in – depth discussions with President Zlansky on military and economic assistance to his country.

He reiterated that Britain would do everything in its power to support Ukraine’s courageous fight against Russia’s brutal and unchallenged invasion and ensure its long – term security and prosperity.

The British prime minister has promised new military assistance to 120 armored vehicles and anti-ship missile systems, while Russia’s attack continues. This is in addition to high-level military equipment worth £ 100 million announced yesterday, including anti-aircraft missiles, and another 800 anti-tank missiles, and current ammunition for accurate attacks.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has visited Kiev

The British prime minister also approved further financial support, pledging an additional $ 500 million in World Bank loans to Ukraine, raising Britain’s total guarantee of about $ 1 billion.

During the press conference, Johnson said Britain would continue to tighten sanctions against Russia. He also said that the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin had led to a “crushing blow” to his reputation and to the Russian government. “We will influence Russia’s ability to use its energy resources. The war determines Ukraine’s future vision, so I and our partners will provide Ukraine with equipment, technology, intelligence so that Ukraine will never face the horrors of invasion and extortion.”

European Commission President Ursula von der Lane and Joseph Burrell, the bloc’s senior diplomat, visited Kiev and Bocha on Friday, alongside Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Hager. Austrian Chancellor Karl Nihammer also met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zlansky in the capital, Kyiv. Nihamer toured the town of Bocha where mass graves of residents brutally murdered by Putin’s soldiers were uncovered.
