Last Friday, pro-Palestinian protesters harassed Jews as they arrived to shop at a kosher supermarket in Toronto, Canada, a member of parliament condemned the demonstration and called on police to end it.
Pro-Palestinian protesters stood outside a kosher supermarket at Turnhill Toronto Canada last Friday, shouting “Free Palestine” with antisemitic slander, harassing Jews who came to the venue, MP Melissa Landsman, condemning the demonstration and calling on police to put an end to it. She Wrote on her Twitter account, “This is not anti-Zionism, this is a blatant act of antisemitic hatred, and everyone must condemn it. You do not come to a Jewish neighborhood and shout antisemitic nicknames if it is not hatred of Jews.”
She added, “I hope that the police forces across the country will start dealing with these incidents because of the hate crimes they are, open hatred of Jews in our streets ends today.” She then announced that the police had arrested a number of protesters, “Thank you to the police who acted quickly, evacuated the demonstration and take it seriously, trust that this antisemitic hate march in our community will be fully punished according to the law.”
The Alliance of Canada condemned the demonstration and issued a response: “We strongly condemn the vulgar and antisemitic nature of the protest at Thornhill.
