WATCH: Sachin Tendulkar Recalls Nostalgic Moment From U-15 Debut Match at PYC Gymkhana I got run out in the first match and came crying to the pavilion

In a video, Sachin Tendulkar said that when he made his debut for Mumbai’s Under-15 team, he ran out and cried from the ground to the pavilion. On the same 17th, Sachin took to the field for the first time at Pune’s PYC Gymkhana ground and posted a video on his social media page explaining the structure of the ground.

Sachin scored 4 runs in his first match for Mumbai U-15 team. But that moment remains deeply etched in Sachin’s psyche till today. In this video, Sachin openly revealed how he ran out and that he was not a fast runner at that time.

Describing how he was run out, Sachin said, “I was standing at the opposite end. My schoolmate Rahul Kanbule played a shot. It was an off drive, he called me for the 3rd run, I was not a fast runner then. Unfortunately I ran out. I had scored only 4 runs.

I still vividly remember the first match run out and crying until I reached the pavilion. I was very disappointed that this happened in the first match. Standing in this stadium today, 35 years later, it’s a little emotional.
