Extraordinary documentation: A rescue union volunteer who was called on Friday afternoon to treat a woman who fainted in the shopping center in the city of Beit Shemesh, found himself in the middle of the treatment humming Carlin’s ‘Ka Aksuf’ at the patient’s request.

The full story was published by the journalist Sivan Rahab Meir as written and in the words of the perpetrator himself, together with video documentation that illustrates what happened in the middle of the commercial center somewhere in Beit Shemesh, hours before Shabbat Kodesh Parshat Akab.

“Hello, my name is Yoel Steinberg, I am a volunteer at Ihud Hatzla Beit Shemesh. On Friday I went shopping with my wife for Shabbat and as usual I took the walkie-talkie with me. While shopping I received an emergency call about an elderly woman fainting in the shopping center. I rushed there with more drives , we took care of the woman, and after the fainting she experienced a kind of anxiety, hyperventilation. The medic talked to her, tried to calm her down, and then the woman asked for Shabbat songs to be sung to her.

Every day I am a singer, usually I sing to make a bride and groom happy. I started singing to her ‘Y-H Aksuf’. It’s an ancient Shabbat song that we sing at home every Shabbat, and here I am singing it in the middle of a shopping mall, to strengthen that woman.

The drivers joined me, and slowly we saw the color return to her face. We actually saw a woman get all her animals back, and within a few minutes she was completely back to herself.

I provide help in a lot of cases, but I have never seen anything like this. We were taught a lot about tools for dealing with emergency situations, but I didn’t know that Shabbat songs were part of the tools. Basically, this is what Shabbat also does to our soul, every week. good week”.
