by time news

According to the publication by the APA, the water has been advised against since July 31. The reason, as described, is classified as a risk of microbiological contamination of the water.

When contacted, a source from the Mirandela municipality explained to Lusa that, due to a momentary electrical failure at a Wastewater Treatment Station (ETAR) upstream, waste was released into the water. The irregularities were immediately detected in the regular analyses.

The malfunction has already been resolved and, according to the same source, a return to normality is expected in the coming days, which will occur when authorized by the APA.

The recreational areas around the beach continue to operate.

The APA provides information, by region of the country, on the beaches that are advised against and those that are prohibited during the bathing seasons.
