Many municipalities in the Neapolitan hinterland were without water from the taps for two days, among them Afragola, Casoria and Cardito. To alleviate the inconvenience for the population, the mayors have already ordered the intervention of the tank trucks of the civil protection. Thousands of citizens went to the main squares to fill the water tanks necessary for domestic use. While for i Covid patients in isolation, unable to go out, a service has been arranged to bring water directly to their homes. According to what was released by the first citizens, the work on the pipeline should be completed by tomorrow, when it is assumed that we can return to normal.
The situation in the municipalities
Ad Afragola, the Municipality announced that “the Costrame company has completed the works for the construction of the city bypass that will allow the supply of water throughout the municipal area, alleviating the inconvenience to Afragolese families, pending the completion of the works on the regional pipeline” . In the afternoon, two tankers for water supply had been set up at the Luigi Moccia stadium and the extension of via Oberdan for domestic needs. The fountains in Piazza Municipio, Piazza Castello, Piazza Ciampa and Corso Napoli are working. “Citizens are invited to make moderate use of water, avoiding waste”.

A Casoria the mayor Raffaele Bene arranged for the installation of the tankers. “We are trying to give a little relief to everyone, starting with the most fragile subjects and therefore we have loaded the tanks of the hospital and the elderly centers and at the same time we are making sure that the dialysis centers also have full tanks. I understand all the inconveniences we are facing; I immediately asked for the preparation of the tankers for basic necessities.
