The Commission for Energy and Water Regulation approved at a closed meeting the business plan of the metropolitan waterworks operator for the period 2022-2026.
In accordance with the company’s approved estimates, starting from October 1, the price for residential users of “Sofiiska Voda” will be BGN 3.52 with VAT per cubic meter, announced the KEVR press center. Until now, the price of water in Sofia was BGN 2.94 per cubic meter.
The planned investments in the period 2022 – 2026 amount to BGN 260 million, with an average of BGN 50 million invested per year. Although from 2022 until now the company has been working without an active business plan, this rate of investment has not been disrupted, as the additional commitments that the operator has made to the Metropolitan Municipality, intended for the sewage network of Sofia, have also been fulfilled.
The planned investments are aimed not only at the development of the physical infrastructure operated by the company, but also support its digitalization and the creation of innovations.
By the end of the regulatory period in 2026, it is expected that the losses in the “Sofia Voda” network will be reduced to 33.29%, which is significantly below the average values for the country.
