Water policy: Royal approach strengthens Morocco’s progress in development (Spanish researcher)
Madrid – The High Guidelines contained in the Speech addressed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Nation on the occasion of the Throne Day constitute “an innovative approach that strengthens Morocco’s progress in terms of development”, stressed the Spanish university researcher Francisco Javier Carrillo Montesinos.
The Royal Speech illustrates the high priority given by HM the King to the water issue, particularly in the face of successive years of drought, Mr. Montesinos said in a statement to MAP.
The royal approach identifies several effective solutions, aimed at addressing global challenges related to the crucial water issue, he noted, citing the continued construction of dams and seawater desalination plants.
“This policy will have a very positive impact on the socio-economic development of Morocco, which is a model in terms of water resources management in the region,” noted this member of the Advisory Council of the European Institute of the Mediterranean.
“Over the last 25 years, considerable progress has been made in various areas, including water management, which should inspire other African countries,” he concluded.
