He indicated that although the Rosarito plant is mainly aimed at satisfying the demand of the population in the Coastal Zone for the vital liquid, it is a message to the foreign industry that the resource will be sufficient in the future.

It is important because we will be able to bring important companies, not brewers or those with higher consumption, but such as semiconductor companies, which are companies that use water moderately,” commented the head of the agency.

Promotion of water reuse

He acknowledged that the direction being taken is encourage water reuse through the treatment plants that would be implemented in the Coastal Zone, as well as internal investment made by each corporation.

The Secretary of Economy and Innovation, Honold Morales, announced that he is considering traveling to Taiwan in April 2024, a trip with similar intentions to those of the trip to Washington in July of this year.

He pointed out that the idea is not only to go to visit the Asian country and convince the business community right therebut first having done convincing work and closing the investment deals.

“We are planning to go to Taiwan, where the strongest semiconductors that we can bring to Baja California are, we are thinking of going in April, we are already making appointments and arrangements,” he added.

Automotive section

The official also spoke about the automotive sector, which he said that although it is important for the entity, the focus on attracting investment is aimed at the value chain.

Honold Morales added that the plan on the automotive issue is for companies that are already installed in Baja California to expand their operations.

“From the automotive sector we do not necessarily have to bring assembly companies, so that we can make any part of the automobile, here we already have 3 and our idea is to grow those that are already there,” concluded the Secretary of Economy and Innovation.
