Nine People Shot Dead in Sweden in 15 Days: Police Describe Wave of Violence as Exceptional

In the span of just 15 days, nine people have been shot dead in Sweden, leaving the nation shaken. The wave of violence has been described by the police as exceptional and has claimed the lives of both gang criminals and innocent civilians and their relatives.

One of the incidents occurred on September 7 in Gränby, Uppsala, where shots were fired at a residence. Among those inside was a woman in her 60s, the mother of Ismail “Strawberry” Abdo, a former right-hand man of Foxtrot network leader Rawa “Kurdish Fox” Majid. The woman was shot and killed, setting off a spiral of violence in Uppsala and Stockholm. The conflict seemed to be between Ismail Abdo and Rawa Majid, both involved in criminal activities. Friends of the victim remember her as a positive and well-dressed person who always spread good energy.

On September 11, a 13-year-old boy named Milo was found dead in a wooded area in Haninge, south of Stockholm. His murder has been linked to gang violence, although no arrests have been made yet. Milo’s tragic death has caused immense sadness in the community, as he was just starting eighth grade and had a promising future ahead of him.

Another victim, 25-year-old Mogos Amanuel Tesfemariam, was shot dead on his way to work in Uppsala on September 12. He was not the intended target, but rather a relative of Rawa Majid. Friends describe Mogos as a fashion-loving young man who aspired to become a lawyer. He had no involvement in the gang environment.

The violence continued on September 13 when a 19-year-old named Giovanni was shot in central Stockholm. His heart could not be saved despite efforts by medical professionals. It remains unclear why Giovanni was targeted, but it is believed to be connected to the ongoing gang war.

On September 14, a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in Västertorp, Stockholm. The crime scene was not the same place where the victim was found, according to the police.

Just two days later, on September 16, a 39-year-old man was shot dead in Råcksta, northwest Stockholm. Residents reported hearing several gunshots in the area. The same day, a detonation occurred at a gate in an apartment building in Bro, north of Stockholm.

The most recent incident took place on September 21 in Sandviken, where a lone shooter entered a local pub and opened fire. One man in his 20s was killed, and three others were injured. Among the injured was 71-year-old Erik Viiri, who was blind and a regular at the pub. He later succumbed to his injuries.

The police are investigating these incidents and believe that they may be the result of personal conflicts or local gang rivalries. However, the exact motives and connections between the incidents are still unclear. The recent surge in violence has left the nation in shock and raises concerns about public safety.
