Waze can now guide drivers with the accent of Provence, Toulouse or ch’ti

by time news

“In carette tertous! “The Waze navigation application offers from this Tuesday to guide motorists with the accent of Provence, Toulouse or ch’ti, according to La Voix du Nord. “We are delighted to offer this new feature which will allow our Wazers in the south, ch’tis or Toulouse to be guided by an accent that is familiar to them”, indicates, in a press release relayed by Waze, Jérôme Marty, Country Manager France at Waze.

These three accents were chosen during a survey organized by the application on social networks. “After consultation, it was the ch’ti, Toulouse and Provençal accents that won the votes of Internet users” indicated the company. Alsatians and Savoyards will therefore not be able to cry foul.

Throughout the journey, the driver will be able to appreciate a few expressions typical of these regions: “Don’t go at top speed! » or « Ablouque your dye! », for the users who will choose the option ch’tie, while the southerners will be able to hear « Do not be fada! » or « we are a good mother there! “. The Toulouse expressions “A m’en donne”, “Boudu” or even “chocolatine”, have also been recorded.

“We have the expressions actually typical of these different regions (…). And the users have listened to and validated the selected voices, the different expressions so that they reflect the most faithful way, the different accents that we have chosen, ”explained Jérôme Marty to France Bleu Occitanie.

To choose the accent with which the application will tell you the nearest gas station or how to go to your friends’ house for dinner, nothing could be simpler: just go to “My Waze”, then “Settings”, select “Voices and sounds”, then “Voix Waze” and opt for “Mireille” for the Provençal accent, “Antonin” for the Toulouse accent or “Biloute” for the Ch’ti accent.
