WB/IMF Annual Meetings: Talks between Mr. Akhannouch and the President of the ECB
Marrakech – The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, met on Thursday in Marrakech with the President of the European Central Bank (ECB), Christine Lagarde, on ways to strengthen cooperation between Morocco and the European financial institution.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (October 9-15), was an opportunity to discuss prospects for cooperation and coordination between the Kingdom and the ECB.
The two sides thus discussed monetary policy in the eurozone, stressing the importance of strengthening international cooperation to face current challenges.
During this interview, Mr. Akhannouch reviewed the structural reforms initiated by Morocco, in application of the High Royal Guidelines, adding that they have helped to strengthen the resilience of the national economy and preserve macroeconomic balances.
