WB/IMF Meetings: Mr. Bourita meets with several senior foreign officials

These discussions took place on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which bring together finance ministers and central bank governors from 190 countries until October 15.

Thus, Mr. Bourita held talks with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, the American Secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yellen, the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Svenja Schultze, the Danish Minister for Development Cooperation and Climate Policy, Dan Jorgensen, and the Swedish Minister of Finance, Elisabeth Svantesson.

During these meetings, Mr. Bourita and his interlocutors reviewed the prospects for bilateral cooperation, reaffirming their willingness to continue to further strengthen these relations.

Foreign officials have expressed their deep condolences following the Al Haouz earthquake and expressed their solidarity and support for Morocco in dealing with the effects of this natural disaster.

In this regard, they welcomed the multidimensional approach adopted by the Moroccan authorities, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to overcome the impacts of the earthquake.

The WB-IMF Annual Meetings, which are returning to African soil 50 years later, are attended by the world’s economic and financial elite, who are looking at major issues relating in particular to financing policies, economic growth and climate change.
