WBCSD and GRP Open Applications for Climate Resilience Awards for Business 2026

The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) have opened applications for the Climate Resilience Awards for Business 2026. The initiative seeks to recognize corporate leadership in climate adaptation and resilience, with a submission deadline set for September 30, 2026.

While climate mitigation often dominates the corporate sustainability conversation, the Climate Resilience Awards for Business aim to shift visibility toward adaptation projects that frequently receive less investment and recognition. Following a debut in 2025, the program is now in its second year, targeting business organizations of all sizes and sectors globally.

Four Strategic Categories for Climate Adaptation

The program evaluates case studies across four distinct pillars of resilience. According to the WBCSD and GRP, the awards aim to establish the state-of-play of business resilience action today, showcase credible and measurable resilience outcomes, and share lessons learned by publishing high-quality case studies to inspire others. One of the categories is Building Climate-Proof Infrastructure, which celebrates projects that strengthen the business case and strategic importance for resilience for business and accelerate resilience solution implementation across sectors and geographies.

Regional and National Resilience Initiatives

In India, ESAF Small Finance Bank has invited applications for the ESAF Climate Smart Agriculture Awards 2026. This national initiative recognizes farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, innovators, and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) championing sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices. The awards aim to encourage farming solutions that strengthen rural livelihoods, conserve natural resources, and enhance productivity in the face of climate change.

Applications are open until September 30, with evaluations based on scalability of sustainable farming practices, community impact, innovation, climate resilience, and improvement in farm productivity and income. Shortlisted applicants will be announced in the first week of December, and winners will be honored on December 23, which marks National Farmers Day. The award, granted under the categories of Leadership and Innovation, recognizes the implementation of a large battery and off-grid solar microgrid at the Aurora Gold Mine in the remote interior of Guyana. This project aligned with Guyana’s Low Carbon Development Strategy 2030 by cutting emissions and diesel use, demonstrating viable low-emission industrial operations in one of South America’s most logistically demanding environments.
