New Delhi : Inaugurating the national convention of BJP, BJP National President JP Nadda reminded the BJP workers of the BJP’s struggle and then moving forward. Nadda said that earlier we represented 17.5 percent of the population, today we represent 58 percent of the population. He said that all this has been possible due to Modi’s guarantee. Nadda said that BJP is the only party which said and did what it said in 1951 even today. Nadda also mentioned his slogan from the time of Jana Sangh, one country, one legislation, one head. Said that first Modi ji had raised slogans at Lal Chowk and then abrogated Article 370. He said that we also raised slogans of Ram Lala, we will come and build the temple there. Some people ridiculed that the temple will be built there itself and will not tell the date. We then said that we will also tell you the date and you will come. But you did not come, these were your actions. The foundation stone of Ram temple was laid and then the consecration also took place.
We saw a period of struggle – Nadda
Nadda said that we have come here in such an environment where we have seen victory in the past and also see victory in the future. We saw a period of struggle, when we were being ignored. We also saw the period when we struggled to save the bail. We saw the emergency. We also saw the process of winning and losing. But we are happy that the last decade is full of achievements under the leadership of PM Modi.
How did BJP vote percentage increase?
Nadda said that in 2009 we had got 18.8 percent support, whereas in 2014 the party’s support reached 31.3 percent. In 2019, we broke our record, from 282 to 303 seats and the vote share reached 37 percent. Before 2014, we had governments in only five states. For a long time we stayed in five-six groups. Today, there is NDA government in 17 states and pure BJP government in 12 states. We won 9836 seats in the local body elections. BJP became mayor of 186 municipal corporations.

Said this about victory in West Bengal
BJP President said that I want to add West Bengal also in the talk of victory. We won 3 seats in the assembly there, then we came back by winning 77 seats. Now get ready for the next turn, it is our turn. He also mentioned about being in the government continuously in Gujarat since 1997. Before 2014, when I used to go to Haryana and say that BJP will form the government, people there used to make fun of us but we formed the government there twice in a row.
PM Modi’s tenure highly appreciated
Nadda mentioned all the elections from Assam to Uttarakhand, from UP to Manipur, Tripura to Chhattisgarh, Telangana. Nadda said that all this has been possible due to Modi’s guarantee. Referring to Madhya Pradesh, he said that ‘Modi ke mann mein MP hai, MP ke mann mein Modi hai’, this touched people. Actually this was the election slogan of BJP. Nadda mentioned the works of senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani along with former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh, former CM Karpoori Thakur, former PM Narasimha Rao, scientist MS Swaminathan and their works who have been awarded Bharat Ratna.
