Chief Justice of the Supreme Court NV Ramana has said that the focus is on filling the vacancies of judges and improving the structure of the judiciary.
Speaking at the launch of a two-day judicial conference in the state of Telangana, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court said that the current heavy burden on the judiciary and the backlog of overcrowded cases was to prioritize the filling of judicial posts and the strengthening of the judiciary.
He spoke in support of the US Alliance, but said that maintaining some independence was important for the people.
That is why he said that vacancies in the High Courts and Lower Courts should be taken care of as much as possible and that the registrars in the Supreme Court are still doing adequate research in many parts of the country in relation to setting up more courts.
Speaking on the ongoing attacks on judges, the Chief Justice said that adequate guidelines were being issued to prevent it and that action should be taken to ensure that judges do their duty without fear.
