The Lens coach says he is proud of his players’ progress, concluded with a victory against Sevilla FC on Tuesday (2-1), synonymous with the play-offs for the 8th round of the Europa League.

How did you experience this second goal scored in added time which ensured qualification?
Franck Haise : It was the only moment I could breathe. Before, we had all the emotions. And, ultimately, the important thing was to end like this. This second goal also comes at the end of a journey in the Champions League, which is a projection towards something else, towards Europe. This allows the club to continue to experience a European adventure. And I think we should take it.

What assessment do you draw from this Champions League campaign?
Few people thought we would have eight points at the end of this group stage. This assessment gives us room to continue to grow. We go out with our heads held high. The results, of course, are not perfect, but I am proud of it. I am proud to have eight points. We took them, and we will continue to move forward.

More generally, what did this campaign bring to the continental scene? ?
We have all grown up. We had almost no experience in the Champions League. This is no longer the case. Each day, 15-16 players gained experience. The club, in its organization, in its infrastructure, has evolved thanks to this transition. The young people also experienced the Youth League, and qualified for the final phase by finishing first in their group.
