While Lille faces PSG this Sunday (1 p.m.), its president, Olivier Létang, hopes for a positive result for the race for Europe.
In an interview with AFP, Olivier Létang, president of LOSC, talks about the course of his club this season but also its European ambitions, as Lille travels to Paris this Sunday at 1 p.m. for the 24th day of Ligue 1.
On the course of Lille this season: “There are two terms. First of all, the satisfaction with the game produced and the personality, the state of mind of the team. But there is also frustration because we left a lot of points on the way. We could have at least five or six more but we won’t get them back. You always have to strive for excellence all the time and in the second period against Strasbourg, we fell back into our shortcomings a bit in terms of efficiency.»
On the hope of finishing in the Top 5:We have the qualities, we have the model, we have the coach, we have the staff for it. It’s going to be a matter of mindset. The most important thing is not to have any regrets at the end of the season. We must be on a mission to seek a European place and that goes through the match in Paris on Sunday.»
On a victory for Lille against PSG on Sunday: “I have a deep respect for PSG, which has very great players, and we know that it is extremely difficult at the Parc des Princes. You always have to make a perfect match, with success, if you want to get something. We will go with our convictions. I’m sure we can beat any team in this league.»
