We deflected a meteor that hit Earth: NASA Proudly Announces | NASA Says Spaceship Successfully Deflected Asteroid In Test To Save Earth

New York: A spaceship sent by NASA has successfully deflected an asteroid that came to hit the Earth and created a historic record. This was reported by Nashev.

A meteorite called Dimorphos, twice the size of a refrigerator, was about to hit Earth, NASA said. At this point, NASA sent the Dart spacecraft to divert the asteroid. On the 27th of last month, the Dart spacecraft hit the asteroid precisely. With this, NASA was waiting for an answer as to whether the meteorite had changed direction as expected.

At this point, NASA has now officially announced that the meteorite has correctly deflected. NASA’s Chief Scientist Bill Nelson says, “NASA has announced that an asteroid that was considered dangerous to Earth has been successfully deflected. The spacecraft’s orbital period of 11 hours and 55 minutes has been shortened to 11 hours and 23 minutes after the collision. This has successfully changed the orbit of the meteorite by 32 minutes. Due to this, the danger caused by the meteorite to the earth has been avoided. With this, we have shown that NASA is the guardian of this earth,” he said

The DART (Double Asteroid Redirection Test) spacecraft is a test program. Now, following the success of this experiment, NASA has demonstrated that it is possible to redirect asteroids coming towards Earth in the future.
