we disagree that we are from another planet

“The Freedom Party has often been given various labels (…), but we do not agree that we are from another planet. Also, the party has never been a party of two questions, it is a party of answers. We want there to be as many free and happy people as possible in Lithuania”, said A. Armonaitė at the event, introducing the slogan of the political force chosen for the elections “We have unfinished business”.

“We still have a lot of unfinished business, we need to strengthen and increase the middle class in Lithuania, invest more in growth, investment attraction, good jobs, see people who are still invisible. This is what the program of the Freedom Party is about,” the leader of the “Freedom Party” listed the priorities.

It is necessary to invest in economic growth

In the economic sector, “liberals” indicated that they would not initiate new transformations. According to A. Armonaitė, the main aspiration is that the economic strategy for the coming years is focused on growth, job creation and investment attraction.

“The growth agenda will be ensured only when there are new companies here, when their development takes place. We stick to our promise not to tax corporate and investment profits,” she explained.

The main goal of education is the student

At that time, the Freedom Party stated that the main problem in the field of education was the lack of democratic educational institutions in big cities.

“The fact that the parties have agreed on the education strategy and vision for the future is already a very big job. However, it needs to be implemented. (…) We often hear that the most important problem is the closure of schools in the regions, but the problems of access to education are primarily in big cities. We need new schools, inclusive kindergartens,” said the party chairman.

“We don’t want the main goal of education to be lost – the student,” the politician emphasized.

Intends to continue responsible social policy

After the former Minister of Health Arūnas Dulkis stated that the increase of Mandatory Health Insurance (PSD) premiums is almost inevitable for the new government, A. Armonaitė believes that the funds currently flowing into the fund should be used more efficiently.

“Let’s not touch health insurance premiums. There is a large reserve, there are opportunities for financing from other sources. Now the economy must grow. Let’s not destroy, let’s introduce more clarity and stability, enough of these changes,” she insisted.

The program of the Freedom Party also states that it is intended to ensure the rights of people with disabilities, to expand the service of assisted reproduction, to achieve the goals of the Istanbul Convention, to ensure a climate-neutral economy, biodiversity, and more foreign investments in the defense industry.

“We would like to repeat the solid performance we had in 2020. We think we can do better, but here it will depend on the people. I think there are hundreds of thousands of people who want solutions, a progressive Lithuania open to innovation”, A. Armonaitė said when asked how many mandates she expects to enter the Seimas.

ELTA reminds that the Seimas elections will be held on October 13.
