U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken Talked tonight (Sunday to Monday) with the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Abu Mazen. The two discussed “the need to improve the lives of Palestinians in tangible ways and the need for reform within the Palestinian Authority.”
After the conversation between the two, Blinken tweeted: “I had a good conversation with Palestinian Authority President Abu Mazen. We discussed strengthening US-Palestinian relations and the need for Palestinian Authority reform and that Palestinians and Israelis alike will enjoy equal means of freedom, security and prosperity.”

Meanwhile, Blinken also spoke with the foreign minister and the deputy prime minister Yair Lapid. The two discussed strong US-Israel relations and shared challenges, including the risks of Russian aggression against Ukraine, and the threats posed by Iran. Minister Blinken reiterated the administration’s firm commitment to Israeli security. In addition, they discussed Israeli-Palestinian issues.

Remember, the President of the United States Joe Biden Said to the Prime Minister Naftali Bennett During their meeting at the White House last October that he did not intend to abandon his plan to reopen the American consulate in Jerusalem, according to senior Israeli and American officials who were updated in detail at the meeting.
The American Consulate in Jerusalem, established in the 19th century, managed relations between the United States and the Palestinian Authority for 25 years, until in 2019 it was closed by the Trump administration and merged into the United States Embassy in Israel.
