Army Chief Highlights Fight Against Corruption and Extremism in Pakistan
(24 News) Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir emphasized that the greatest sin in God’s eyes is corruption, and the Pakistani Army is working tirelessly to eradicate it. He addressed the National Ulema Convention, emphasizing that those who deviate from Islamic law and the Constitution are not considered Pakistani citizens.
The Army Chief highlighted the sacrifices of Afghans and Pakhtun tribes in the fight against terrorism, expressing solidarity with them. He also warned against the allure of extremism, quoting Allama Iqbal: “Keep away from Allah, education is also a temptation… The slogan of Takbeer is only a sword, but also a temptation.”
General Munir further stressed the importance of tolerance and unity, urging the rejection of extremism and discrimination. He emphasized the need for moderation and ethical values in society, contrasting the Western lifestyle with Pakistan’s unique heritage.
The Army Chief concluded his address by quoting Iqbal and highlighting the uniqueness of Pakistani culture. He emphasized the importance of protecting the nation and strengthening its position in the world.
