Despite the defeat, James Rodríguez was recognized as the Best Player of the Copa América USA 2024. Conmebol awarded him this prestigious award, highlighting his outstanding performance throughout the tournament. In addition to leading the team as captain, James became the tournament’s top assist-maker, providing six assists that resulted in goals for Colombia.
Luis Díaz, a teammate, shared his feelings after the final: «Unfortunately, the dream we longed for of lifting the cup ended.“We were not inferior in any cup game.”

Colombian National Team coach Néstor Lorenzo also commented on the team’s performance and his hopes for the future. “It’s not easy to play in a final and the boys felt the effort of the entire tournament today.
