The following statement was issued by the faction “With Strength for Rhodes”:
In relation to the announcement of Mr. Kalopitas, regarding the objection filed against him due to obvious incompatibility, we would like to make some comments.
First of all, let’s go beyond characterizations of “bred” and “dignity” which we attribute to irritation – if not panic – and stand on what we agree on, that is, trust in justice and faith in integrity and transparency.
In this context, we would like to address to Mr. Kalopitas just one question and we would ask for a specific and clear answer.
Is it true or not that a certain technical company in which for many years and at least until August 2023 he was a co-manager and a 50% shareholder, has in recent years received projects from the Municipality worth approximately 1 million euros?
We point out that according to article 10 of Law 4804/2021 “They cannot be elected or be mayors, municipal councilors…managers, shareholders and partners of capital companies, which have contracted with the relevant municipality…as long as their percentage of participation in the companies exceeds thirty-five percent (35%) of the company’s total capital…”.
We could address other similar questions, but to make it easier for him we will stick to this simple question.
We ask for his answer in the context of the dignity and integrity that he, according to his statement, stands for.
