A leap in infections in France, where 18 thousand new cases have been registered in the last 24 hours, an “never-before-seen” surge due to the Delta variant, as stated by the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran. A week ago there were fewer than 7,000 new cases.
“I just got the data on the infections of the last 24 hours in our country. Yesterday there were 18 thousand infections”, said the minister in his speech to the National Assembly. Last night, at the end of the Council of Ministers, government spokesman Gabriel Attal said that France has entered “a fourth wave of the virus”.
