Former opposition party leader Begum Roshan Ershad has called the national party conference on March 9. General Secretary of the party Mujibul Haque Chunnu said that Roshan Ershad is an outsider and the council called by GM Quader has nothing to do with Jatiya Party.
He said these things to reporters at the party chairman’s office in Banani on Sunday (February 18).
Earlier, Roshan Ershad held an emergency press conference at his residence in Gulshan. Roshan announced the committee to implement the party’s national council on March 9 with the leaders and activists of his side.
Criticizing Roshan Ershad, Japa General Secretary said, we have not called any council. We have nothing to do with those outside who called the council. Others may have 10 councils, may be committees, it does not matter to us.
There are 4-5 national parties. Jatiya Party (Manju), Jatiya Party Kanthal Group, Jatiya Party Cycle Marka, Jatiya Party Ladder Marka. There can be another group’ – added Chunnu.
He appealed to the activists to ignore the issue and said that if anyone wants to form another bracketed party in the name of Jatiya Party, they can do so. Jatiya Party is led by GM Quader, it has no affiliation with others.
Earlier, Roshan Ershad announced Kazi Feroze Rashid as convener, Syed Abu Hossain Babla as co-convener and Safiqul Islam as member secretary of Jatiya Party’s 10th National Conference Implementation Committee.
In this regard, Mujibul Haque said, Kazi Feroz Rashid has already been released. If Abu Hossain Babla wanted to go somewhere else, it would have been better if he resigned. He has acted against party discipline by speaking in other forums.
