Iranian Revolutionary Guard Commander Hossein Salami said on Sunday that “the resistance front and Iran will prepare themselves with everything necessary to confront and defeat the enemy.”
Salami added: “America, which pays lip service to defending human rights and democracy, has known nothing but wars, and it has failed to break the power of our people by imposing sanctions on them.”
He said: “Washington talks about democracy, peace, and freedom, but it is the source of political chaos in the world. It uses all its tools to defeat the Iranian people, but it was defeated.”
The commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard pointed out that “America and the West allied with it came together against Gaza, but its people were able to spread new hope,” noting that “soldiers of the Zionist entity are being buried on the borders of Gaza and Lebanon.”
Salami added, “When the officials of the Zionist entity lose politically, they violate all international norms and conventions, but the small group of believers in Gaza will triumph over America and the Zionist entity.”
According to the Tasniyya news agency, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard said: “We have learned how to inflict devastating blows on our enemy and to stand up to the satanic forces and withstand them,” stressing that “the Zionist entity will not be able to survive by relying on its military devices, and we will defeat the enemy, and this matter will be proven in the future.” The arenas and we will implement everything we say.”
The Iranian president links the type and intensity of Tehran’s response to Israel to the ceasefire
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that “if Israel ceases fire in the region, this will have an impact on the ‘type and intensity of the Iranian response’ to the recent Israeli attack against Tehran.”
Pezeshkian said: “We will not leave any attack on our security and sovereignty without a response, and any mistake committed by the Zionist entity will face a harsh response.”
He added: “If the Zionists reconsider their policies and cease fire and kill civilians and innocent people in the region, this may have an impact on the type and intensity of our response.”
He said: “We never started a war and we never advised any country to go to war. It was the United States that always started wars in different parts of the world, including our region, and today, with its support for the Zionist entity, it keeps the fire of war burning in the region.”
Khamenei: The United States and Israel will receive an overwhelming response to what they are doing
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei stated, “The Islamic, national and rational confrontation of the Iranian people against American arrogance, in accordance with international laws, will continue with a correct road map and without neglect or delay.”
Khamenei published a new tweet on his official account on the “X” platform, which said: “The enemies, whether America or the Zionist entity, must know that they will inevitably receive a decisive response to what they are doing against Iran and the resistance front.”
Iran confirms that it has reached the level of leading countries in nuclear technology
The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Islami, stressed that “Tehran has become among the leading countries in the field of nuclear technology, thanks to the tireless and continuous efforts of its talented youth.”
He said: “Iran has made great progress in the field of nuclear science and technology,” adding: “We have now succeeded in obtaining the computing codes and software used in the design and construction processes, and these codes are used in the production of atomic products.”
He pointed out that “great efforts have been made in the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization in recent years to overcome the “research stage and enter the industrial stage,” pointing out that this process is progressing and growing, according to the Iranian “Mehr” News Agency.

Interview between the Time.news Editor and Dr. Alexei Volkov, Middle East Expert
Time.news Editor (TNE): Good day, Dr. Volkov, and thank you for joining us. There have been some striking statements coming out of Iran recently, especially from Commander Hossein Salami of the Revolutionary Guard. He declared that Iran is preparing to confront its enemies with everything at their disposal. How significant do you find these statements in the context of Iran’s military posture?
Dr. Alexei Volkov (AV): Thank you for having me. Salami’s remarks are indeed quite telling. They indicate a shift towards a more aggressive stance in Iranian rhetoric. Iran has a long history of portraying itself as the defender of the oppressed against perceived Western imperialism—particularly U.S. aggression. Salami’s claim that Iran can inflict “devastating blows” on its enemies suggests a readiness not only for defensive measures but also for offensive actions. It reflects a growing confidence in Iran’s military capabilities and its willingness to leverage them against adversaries.
TNE: He also criticized the U.S. for its wars and sanctions against Iran, claiming these efforts have failed. How do you interpret this narrative?
AV: This is a classic example of how Iran frames its grievances. By emphasizing the failure of U.S. interventions and sanctions, Iranian leaders aim to rally domestic support and project strength internationally. It’s a way to reinforce national unity under the premise that the U.S. and its allies are the culprits behind Iran’s struggles. This narrative resonates deeply within their society, where there is widespread skepticism about Western motives in the region.
TNE: The Iranian president, Masoud Pezeshkian, linked the nature of Iran’s responses to Israel with potential ceasefire actions. What does this suggest about Tehran’s strategic calculations, especially in relation to Israel?
AV: Pezeshkian’s comments underline Iran’s conditional approach to military responses. By linking their reactions to Israel’s actions, Tehran demonstrates a level of strategic restraint and a desire for a political resolution, albeit while still maintaining an aggressive readiness. This suggests a calculated move to leverage diplomatic channels while preparing for military action if provoked. It highlights the delicate balance Iran seeks to maintain in the region—being ready to respond but also open to negotiations depending on Israel’s military actions.
TNE: Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei also stated that both the U.S. and Israel should expect a decisive response. How does this fit into the broader regional dynamics we’re witnessing?
AV: Khamenei’s declarations are consistent with the ideological underpinnings of the Iranian regime, focusing on resistance against what they term “American arrogance” and Israeli aggression. It’s a rallying cry for their allies and proxies in the region, which positions Iran as a leader of the resistance front. This strategy not only aims to solidify Iran’s influence over groups in the region but also seeks to deter further actions from Israel and the U.S. Through these statements, Iran aims to project power while rallying internal and regional support.
TNE: Lastly, with Iran reportedly advancing in nuclear technology, how do you see this impacting international relations and security in the Middle East?
AV: Iran’s advancements in nuclear technology are likely to exacerbate tensions with both regional and global actors. As their capabilities evolve, the concern is that this might lead to a regional arms race or prompt preemptive actions against Iran from Israel or the U.S. The narrative of Iran being a leading country in nuclear technology could also bolster their esteem among allies, while simultaneously inciting fear and counter-measures from adversaries. It places Iran in a more influential position, which could be leveraged in negotiations, but also raises the stakes for conflict in an already volatile region.
TNE: Thank you, Dr. Volkov, for your insightful analysis. The situation remains complex and continues to evolve rapidly. We appreciate your expertise on these critical issues.
AV: Thank you for having me. It’s an important discussion, and I look forward to seeing how these dynamics unfold in the future.
