“We know that summer will be terrible”: why does the number of feminicides increase at this time of year?

by time news

Eva, 31, stabbed to death on July 16; Nina, 35, beaten to death the day before; Aurélie, 32, shot dead… The list goes on and on. Like every year, the number of feminicides tends to increase in summer, to general indifference. The Féminicides collective by companions or ex has identified 20 acting out since the start of the summer period (and 72 since 2022). The finding was already the same last year, with 30 feminicides occurring in summer for 113 over the whole year.
