When Mohanlal stood in front of the camera while rowing a raft in the sizzling mountain water of Thommankuth, those scenes rippled all over Kerala. Along with the song ‘Ammapuzha’s hands…’, the place called Thommankuth is now viral all over the world through the visuals of ‘Laletan’. A group of young people from Thommankuth are overjoyed to have the opportunity to act with Mohanlal and work on the shooting location.
The local youth also participated in the shooting of the movie Olam Vum Thirvum directed by Priyadarshan which took place near Thommankuth Chappat. They also showed their faces along with Mohanlal who was coming across the river in a raft made of wood. The filmmakers invited them to jump into the deep river and so on. These natives were able to do all this very easily because they knew the depth and flow of the river.
Ajesh Augustine, Amal Krishna, MK Rajeev, Sahadeva, Joji Roy, Anish Mon Antony, Nandu Ramakrishnan, PM Shaibu, Jomon Joseph and PS Vishnu actively participated in the shooting. They showed their faces in many shots. The shooting was done with the prior permission of the forest department and the panchayat. Panchayat member Bibin Augustin said that when the permission was taken for this, the filmmakers said that they wanted some people who had experience in jumping into the river for the purpose of shooting. On the basis of this, local youths came forward.

The shooting is being done in Thommankuth River and nearby areas, which have beautiful scenes including Kananabhangi and the river in full flow. Although it has been a few days since the arrival of other filmmakers, Mohanlal arrived on Saturday. Some parts of the film are being shot in Kudayathur and Kanjhar regions.
