Chennai: Governor of Telangana and Pondicherry Tamizhai Saundarajan has asked the state government to reduce taxes on petrol and diesel like the central government.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made the important announcement a few days ago.
In it, he announced that excise duty on petrol and diesel prices would be reduced across the country.

Excise tax reduction
The central excise duty on petrol has been reduced by Rs 8 per liter and the excise duty on diesel by Rs 6 per liter. This will reduce petrol prices by Rs 9.50 per liter and diesel by Rs 7 per liter. Nirmala Sitharaman has urged all state governments, especially those that did not reduce taxes last November 2021, to implement similar tax cuts and reduce the burden on the common man.
