The senior coach of our women’s volleyball champion “Maritsa” Ahmetcan Ershimshek commented on the opening match in the group of the Champions League for this season against the Polish “Rzeszów”, lost 1:3 as a guest.
“We had scouted them well and we knew they play good volleyball. Before the match I told the team that they have to fight for every single point. They had that in the first two games and I’m happy, but after that things didn’t work out.
So we have to be careful at every moment and be focused till the end of the point. That’s why I’m not happy with the last two games. This first game was very important for us because we showed that we can fight for every single point.
We started the game well and we knew they were stronger than us, but today I’m not so happy because we had a chance to do something more, but we lost that chance and I’m not so happy. It’s a great feeling to lead a team in the Champions League. The atmosphere was great. I thank the players and the staff,” said the Turkish specialist.
