We secured the missing funding for the participation of the basketball team of 35 SEU “Dobri Voynikov” at the World Championship in China. This was announced by GERB deputy Georgi Georgiev on his Facebook profile.
“A month ago, we learned from the TV screen that the basketball team of the 35th SEU “Dobri Voynikov” is the national champion of Bulgaria, but the expenses for the two-week stay of the team at the world championship are unbearable. Therefore, instead of calling trouble, they got to work .
The school board organized a donation campaign and together the parents and students collected more than 50% of the required amount. But the race was approaching, and the money was not enough. Therefore, together with my colleagues Tatyana Georgieva, Ekaterina Yordanova and Miroslav Borshosh, we prepared a proposal to the municipal council to allocate the necessary funds from the municipal budget. It has already received full support from the municipal councilors in the three committees of the council and at the meeting yesterday, for which I thank both my colleagues – co-authors of the report and everyone who supported us.”
The MP congratulated our great students, their talented coaches and teachers, as well as their parents – for their enthusiasm and energy.
