15:25: The shadow slalom through Standlstrasse at the Gösser Kirtag is a challenge. But the visitors are real experts and manage it superbly, even though there is some blaring from all sides. A stand of umbrellas would be big business today. We now let you continue to enjoy the fair and I hope you had and continue to have a great Gösser fair!

14:05: It’s pouring, but that’s no problem for the thousands of people who attend the fair. With umbrellas, charm, but no bowler hat, women, men and children parade through the stalls. However, umbrellas and large tents are still in demand. For everyone who has already gone home, we’ve compiled all the previous photos into a photo series. Just click through!
12.15: The Gösser Kirtag is now finally open. And the Styrian Bohemian also introduced a brief outpouring of music. But, it’s all over again. More than a thousand visitors were waiting for the beer tapping in a good mood. Everything went well, although the first rows in front of the stage got a few splashes. Moderator Harry Prünster sang “Prosit” in a strong voice.
The first was Governor Christopher Drexler, who was at the Gösser Kirtag for the first time. Deputy Governor Anton Lang could only smile. As a resident of Leoben, he has been familiar with the Kirtag since he was young, as was district captain Markus Kraxner, who said: “I grew up with the Kirtag.” The mayor of Trofiach, Mario Abl, also treated the Gösser Kirtag and said: “We are doing it for the Ausseer Kirtag” a lot of competition.
Mayor Kurt Wallner, a newlywed from the weekend, was clearly comfortable as a host. Together with the two state politicians and the master brewers Michael Zotter and Patrick Ehmann from Gösser sales, he did the traditional beer tapping. 55,000 jugs worth of beer was needed, as Zotter showed.
Also seen were state politicians Hannes Schwarz, Lambert Schönleitner, Helga Ahrer, Marco Triller and Wolfgang Moizi, who will be joining the National Council. Also seen at Erzberg Leoben TV board member Rudi Tischhart. Mario Kunasek has also announced himself for the evening.

The emotional highlight of the opening was the traditional poem “Gösser Kirtag” by Christine Haffellner, now 96 years old, from Proleb, who was a district farmer for many years.
09.45: The Gösser Kirtag is already open in Göss, at the main square it will be at 11 am There were hundreds of people and they will now walk to the main square.
9:15 am: From Göss towards the main square, the stall holders are already well prepared for the day. Many visitors are also outdoors to take part in the “Kirtagraffen”. Are you at the fair already?
8:08 am: Many stands have already been set up. There is already a lot of activity going on at the gastro stands of the regional clubs. The Leoben mountain rescue service is also working with women and men to prepare everything for the festival visitors. Many operators also looked towards the sky due to the weather forecast that there would be rain in the afternoon. Completely unusual for the Gösser Kirtag, where the sun shines almost all the time.
Both openings, at 9.30 am at the Nagelschmiedgasse intersection in Göss and at 11 am at the main square, should definitely remain dry. Well, then, a nice start to the fair!
06:00 am: Every year, on the Thursday after the first Sunday in October, Leoben is in a state of emergency: At the popular Gösser Kirtag, thousands of people crowd around Gösser Straße and Leoben’s main square. The final work on the 350 stands will be done this morning. It’s been quiet so far, but that will change in the next few hours.
As usual, the outdoor concert of the Gösser Musikverein starts at 9 am in Göss in the Nagelschmiedgasse crossing area. The first beer tap from Mayor Kurt Wallner follows at 9.30 a.m. Harry Prünster will also moderate in a tentative way. The Gösser musicians will play from 11 am to 1:30 pm before being replaced by Steiraherz.
Start at 11 am at the main square
The group “Die Steirisch Böhmische” starts on the main square at 10.45 a.m. Mayor Kurt Wallner will also tap beer here at 11 a.m. – as Göss has already practiced. Until 6 pm there is a program with the Steirerherzen Seegraben, the Goaßsteigbuam, the Dorfprinzen and the Hafendorfer.
Will 35,000 visitors visit the city again this year and more than 30,000 jugs of beer pass the counters? We will keep you informed. First, have fun and we hope to see you! Where? On the Gösser Kirtag, of course!
