President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) carried out an important action around the decree through which the calls are regularized chocolate cars in Mexico.
This is established in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), where the decree on chocolate cars and the date on which the measure comes to an end that regularizes these units.

AMLO orders to extend the period of the chocolate car decree
A few days after the original decree to regularize chocolate cars in Mexico will come to an end, the federal government extended the validity period of the measure.
It was since Thursday, September 26 that was published in the DOF the new decree by which the effects are postponed of the mechanism that was launched in December 2022.
In this regard, the new chocolate car decree establishes that the owners of units of foreign origin not regularized, you will still be able to registerr their vehicles.
About the new date on which it will end the measure that favors car owners, the decree indicates that it will not be soon, since it was set to be until September 30, 2026.
It should be noted that the original chocolate car decree that was published in 2022, established that the regularization of vehicles could be carried out until the end of September this year.
Why was the validity of the chocolate car decree extended?
In it new decree on chocolate cars which was published on September 26 in the DOF, establishes several of the benefits that the measure is claimed to have left.
Regarding this, the document states that the chocolate cars decree allowed 2 million 559 thousand 256 cars of foreign origin were regularized.
Through the procedures to regularize the units, a collection of 6 thousand 398 million 140 thousand pesosresources on which it is assured, have been invested in public works.
On this point, in the decree by which the validity is extended until September 30, 2026, it is noted that It has been used in paving actions from several municipalities.
As for the municipalities where the aforementioned works have been deployed, it is detailed that they correspond to districts located in 16 states where chocolate cars are concentrated:
