Realme has just presented the GT Neo3 and the GT Neo 3T, two new exponents of its GT family, or Gran Turismo, with a clear focus on power. Both will be on sale on June 15. The GT Neo3 It stands out for one feature in particular, the 150W fast charge, which means that with just 5 minutes plugged in, the phone would recover 50% of the 4,500mAh battery, being the first on the market with this capacity.

At ABC we have tested it, and, indeed, the difference in charging with the rest of the terminals is abysmal, six times faster than, for example, that of the Samsung Galaxy S22, making it possible for us to practically forget about running out of battery, or that of leaving the terminal plugged in all night.

For fast charging to be safe, realme It has increased the size of the heat sink by 20% compared to the previous model, and even with the temperatures we are experiencing in Madrid these days, we have not noticed that it gets hotter than other phones. In any case, the GT Neo 3 always warns of the possibility of overheating.

The concern of most will be whether the 150W could reduce the battery’s durability below the usual 800 charge cycles, or two and a half years of use. To solve this, Realme has installed a security chip, which allows the GT Neo3 to reach 1,600 charge cycles, which means that it will remain above 80% capacity for more than four years. Of course, the 150W charger is included in the box and has passed various safety tests from companies outside of Realme.

A competent processor

The GT Neo3 not only launches the largest fast charge on the market, but also the processor SoC Dimensity 8100 from MediaTek, which arrives for the first time in Europe with a modest 20% increase in performance compared to the previous model.

The processor is able to compete with Qualcomm’s high-end processor, the Snapdragon 8 gen 1. This makes the new Realme mobile one of the most powerful phones on the market and with the best performance, without speed drops of any kind. In multicore processing on GeekBench, the results are close to 4,000 points, above phones equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, such as the Oppo Find X5 Pro (3,300) or the Xiaomi 12 Pro (3,700).

The amount of memory depending on the model would be between 8 and 12 GB. The GT Neo 3T, the younger brother of the terminal, has a modest Snapdragon 870 and 8 GB of RAM, a processor that we have already seen in other phones such as Xiaomi’s Poco F3. It is a mid-range processor, which has worked perfectly in tests, and which handles the phone smoothly, but it is far from the Dimensity 8100.

The camera falters

As for the design, Realme has sought to differentiate itself. The casing simulates the bodywork of a racing car, which we liked. The 6.7-inch FullHD +, HDR10 + and 120hz refresh AMOLED screen It is intended primarily for gamers., to make your experience as immersive as possible. To give it a snag, it lacks some brightness outdoors, and there are obviously better panels on the market, but it is still a good screen in its mid-range segment. The touch sampling of the screen is 1,000Hz, again, designed for video games, so the response is instant.

As for the camera, which we have to remember is not the strong point of this phone, since it has been designed for gamers, and not for photography, we have a sensor IMX776 de Sony that we have already seen in other terminals, such as the GT2 Pro, and three lenses that are already a classic in Realme, a 50 megapixel main, an 8 wide angle and a 2 macro. The set gives a good result but does not improve anything of what we had already seen if we talk about Realme.

The Sony sensor is going to give us a good result, just as it did in the GT2 Pro, with good image detail, and a night mode with a fairly high-quality result. As for the ultra wide angle, the images are quite fair, with some distortion at the edges. The macro is only testimonial, an objective of little use, which is more of a filler than anything else.

also a tablet

The Realme Gt Neo3 is one of the most interesting phones in the mid-range, with great power and 150W charging, perfect for gamers. Realme has prepared two special editions, Dragon Ball and Naruto, unfortunately only the first will arrive in Europe at some point. The price moves at 699.90 euros.

We have also tested Realme’s new tablet, the Pad Mini, with an 8.7-inch screen, Unisoc T616 processor, 4G capabilities, 32 and 64GB storage, but with MicroSD expansion that weighs only 373 grams. A tablet that has been one of the best sellers on Amazon thanks to its reduced price of 159 euros.

What we liked the most is its aluminum design, probably because it reminds us of a large iPhone. Due to its fair power, and to the LCD screen, the main destination of this tablet is clearly the consumption of multimedia content, to watch Netflix or YouTube, thanks to the 4G connection, the 6,400 mAh battery, and the possibility of expanding the space using memory cards. The cameras, front and rear, 5 and 8 megapixels respectively, are very fair to make a video call or take a photo. The Realme Pad Mini is perfect for watching our favorite series during those long summer trips.
