We visited the new Saban Ilvan in Tel Aviv. Here’s everything you need to know

by time news

After a long and intriguing build-up, today it happens: Tel Aviv joins the revised list of cities that have a representative for the Saban Ilvan chain. The international chain of convenience stores launched this morning (Wednesday) the store in Dizingoff Center, the first of eight branches that will open in the first half of the year. From the first impression, Saban Ilvan keeps its promises and delivers on two main points: unique products from food to merchandising and the price level.

Regardless of the expectations we have developed, you cannot miss the new store. The facade facing Dizengoff Street is decorated with red, green and orange balloons. Curious passers-by are already trying to get in, but the official opening will only take place today (Wednesday) at 5:00 p.m. On the shelves are carefully arranged complementary grocery products, snacks, non-prescription drugs, mobile charger, dog leash, hair clipper, office equipment and other accessories that you will need when all other stores are closed.

But we’re here for the food, and Saban Ilvan spreads an impressive fan of feathers: American ice cream (7 NIS), boxes with tahini cookies, granola and chocolate chips (9.90 NIS), a hot dog stand (including a vegan hot dog) with a bun, sauces and sauerkraut (14.90 NIS), buckwheat bread sandwiches filled with spreads, eggs, salads, and meat, a Nutella corruption sandwich in white bread with Oreo pieces and M&M’s, and also a hot case: a double-sided warming display case with chicken schnitzel (14.90 NIS), perfectly reasonable Cuba (3 pcs for 19.90 NIS), mozzarella fingers (19.90 NIS) and puree balls (14.90 shh), and a total of about 80 prepared food items out of 2,000 items in the entire store.

In the refrigerators you will find packaged salads (approx.36 NIS), Gvanetz toast (14.90) and muesli with yogurt and fruit (16.90 NIS). Make the coffee yourself from coffee beans that are ground during preparation, espresso (7 NIS) and other drinks that are served in three sizes (not including the American Giant size) with cow’s milk, soy or oats at no extra charge. Near the coffee stand you will find sugar, cinnamon and syrups for seasoning, just like in America. In honor of the launch, a number of opening promotions will also be offered: Breakfast Burrito from Scratch (21.90 NIS), a large drinking glass and a sausage (18 NIS), salad and natural juice (40 NIS). deliveries? Not now, but towards the summer there will be.

The highlights are undoubtedly half a Margherita pizza from a thick crust (15.90 NIS), strawberry and mango smoothies with chia seeds as a healthy alternative, and the legendary Slurpee – carbonated hail with cola, panthea, grape and lambda flavors (blue), which you can mix to your taste (or lack of taste). Did you make a mix that turned out disgusting? You can throw it in the trash and no one will blink (from NIS 10 for 350 ml). The largest glass, 1.300 liters, will be launched in August for the hot season. “You can go out of Saban Ilban Shibaat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and at an unbeatable price,” says Zvika Schwimmer, CEO of Electra Consumer Products, which owns the franchise. Awareness of Saban Ilvan in Israel is high because people have met the brand abroad. Every two weeks we open a store and the intention is to open hundreds of stores in Israel.”

At the Saban Ilvan store, you will pay at the kiosk or at the cash register or in the app, a new and challenging method in terms of trust in the customer: scan the barcode printed on the product, pay and leave. Or you don’t pay (and of course we don’t encourage this), and no one will check the invoice at the exit. “The audience in Israel, and especially in Tel Aviv, is ready for change. I believe in the consumer and am sure that we will be imitated. Our motto is “give them what they want, when and where they want it”, explains the chain’s CEO Avinoam Ben Mocha. Credit card/club holders of Saban Ilvan in collaboration with K.A.L. Vebit will be able to accumulate points and redeem them in all branches.

The Seven Eleven chain, the third largest retailer in the world, was established in 1927 in Dallas, Texas and is considered a pioneer in the field of convenience stores in the world. In 1946, the name of the chain was changed to Saban Ilvan to reflect the extension of the hours of operation from 07:00 to 23:00 seven days a week. Later, the chain became the first in the world to start operating 24 hours a day. Today, Seven Eleven is spread over more than 83,000 stores – more than any other food chain (McDonald’s has 37,000 branches worldwide). Israel is the 19th country in which the network operates alongside Australia, Canada and the Scandinavian countries. The leading countries in the number of branches are Japan (21,342), South Korea (14,254) and Thailand (13,712). The following branches will be opened in Levinsky Market, Yigal Alon, Sokolov, King George Florentin, Nachalat Binyamin and Migdal Hatza’im on Begin Road. The exact need and the requirements of the immediate environment are what determine the product mix in each store.
