Amid the political crisis in Sri Lanka, former president and Sri Lanka Freedom Party leader Maithripala Sirisena held a rally in Polonnaruwa as part of Labor Day celebrations.

He was speaking in front of a crowd of people, from the rich to the peasants in the country, and civil servants who have been taking to the streets to demand that the government go home.
For this reason, I also took to the streets on this Labor Day. I want a new government in the country. He said we will do it.

There are thousands of problems in the country. People are depressed. Farmers living in the Polonnaruwa area dreamed of making Sri Lanka a self-sufficient country. But, even on a daily basis they are not currently able to cultivate.
Therefore, Sirisena said, “I am participating in this May Day rally to raise the voice of the working class in the country and to take up their problems and the challenges they face.”

The Government is seeking the assistance of international and international financial institutions to address the economic crisis in Sri Lanka. At the same time, the opposition and the public are fighting for the resignation of the Rajapaksa government, which does not know how to solve their problems.
Similarly, Buddhist organizations have raised the banner that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa should step down and form an interim government. Agalakada Sirisumana, one of the Buddhist leaders, has warned that a religious edict will be issued against the Sri Lankan government if an interim government is not formed.

This is a serious crisis for President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. So he is reportedly taking steps to form an interim government headed by a new prime minister and a new cabinet.
