“Our Ministry, as much as it can, in line with its budget, knowing that it is not enough, has supported the tradesmen there with grants, loans and salaries of the employees and will continue to do so. At this point, many unexpected historical artifacts were encountered while the project was continuing with the logic of the area being very special and sensitive and ‘let’s do it while we did it’.
As mentioned above, although there were some delays in the payment of the amount of the tender, the budget of which was fully allocated by the Ministry of Tourism, and the blocked amount, both our ministry and the company that took the job showed their best efforts. We are sad to watch that some tourism stakeholders, some tradesmen, some stakeholders are trying to use this big project as a political tool, unfortunately, instead of supporting this giant project, which is ready to finance and which has been delayed a little due to the developments that nobody expected. Our request from our people is to support those who do business and to take care of this great project that has been a bleeding wound for years. We stand behind our commitment, and there is no doubt that we will complete the project with a clear conscience, with the awareness of the damage that the delay will cause to the port tradesmen and tourism.”
“INFORMATION POLLUTION WILL NOT BE ALLOWED”
In the statement, it was noted that all the statements made, other than the official statements of the Ministry, only undermined the process, and it was emphasized that the negative statements made great damage to Kyrenia and the country’s tourism, and it was stated that information pollution would not be allowed.
In the statement, “This project is not only the Ministry of Tourism, but also all TRNC‘s largest restoration project and we will not allow anyone to drag this great project to the bottom. It is made available to the public.”
